Delete Google Analytics Properties Within Account

Google recently announced that now users can delete Google Analytics properties within their accounts.

Now users can not only choose which properties have to be deleted, they can now even see properties with no views in the UI. This will eliminate the scope of any missing properties or accidental deletes. Thus if an account has zero properties or there is an existing property with no views, you can delete them if you want.

For people who don’t know what it means, the data collected by Google Analytics is stored in properties. One account can have multiple properties and one property can have multiple views allowing transformation of the data through filters.

In the past users could delete accounts and views but they were not allowed to delete individual properties directly. Now on deleting a property, all the views underneath that property will be deleted as well.

If you wish to delete a property, all you need to do is go to the property settings within the admin view and simply click on the delete property link:

Google explained that this additional flexibility and consistency to users is the first in a series of improvements for managing deletions.
